'ZDNET Recommends': What exactly does it mean?

ZDNET's recommendations are based on many hours of testing, research, and comparison shopping. We gather data from the best available sources, including vendor and retailer listings as well as other relevant and independent reviews sites. And we pore over customer reviews to find out what matters to real people who already own and use the products and services we’re assessing.

When you click through from our site to a retailer and buy a product or service, we may earn affiliate commissions. This helps support our work, but does not affect what we cover or how, and it does not affect the price you pay. Neither ZDNET nor the author are compensated for these independent reviews. Indeed, we follow strict guidelines that ensure our editorial content is never influenced by advertisers.

ZDNET's editorial team writes on behalf of you, our reader. Our goal is to deliver the most accurate information and the most knowledgeable advice possible in order to help you make smarter buying decisions on tech gear and a wide array of products and services. Our editors thoroughly review and fact-check every article to ensure that our content meets the highest standards. If you want a pair of premium headphones that deliver impeccable sound, all-day comfort, and a sleek design, consider picking up the Sonos Ace during your Labor Day shopping. These headphones were $449 at launch, and you can get them for $399 at Sonos, Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon.

I tested the Ace headphones when they were released in early June and enjoyed their immersive and dynamic sound, simple and intuitive design, and immense comfort. The Sonos Ace support Dolby Atmos for an enhanced movie-watching and music-listening experience. They also have a USB-C port for high-quality listening and charging.

The Ace have 30 hours of battery life, meaning they can keep up with your audio needs for a few days without needing a charge. Additionally, iOS and Android users can access all of the Ace's software features, making them a great option for people with mixed-device ecosystems.

The Sonos Ace debuted with an innovative feature called TV Audio Swap, which allows listeners to seamlessly switch audio between the Ace and their compatible Sonos soundbar. At launch, this feature was only available on iOS and only compatible with the Sonos Arc soundbar.

Since then, Sonos has expanded compatibility to Android and the Sonos Beam and Ray soundbars, making these headphones' best feature accessible to more customers.

Those looking for a new pair of premium headphones with up-to-date features should look not further than the Sonos Ace, especially if you already own Sonos products. It's unclear how long this deal will be available, so be sure to check it out before the holiday weekend ends.
